A new Chapel Hill Transit artwork bus highlights the battle for racial justice and celebrates youthful group customers who rise above racism.
The “Rise Above Racial Injustices” bus is a collaboration amongst local community arts associates, neighborhood artist and art educator Debi Drew, and members of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro NAACP Youth Council.
The three youth council members picked for the challenge ended up Kennedy Lytle, Sol Ramirez, and Anthony Swann. These students acquired a stipend for the time and contribution to the task.
Drew was picked for the venture mainly because of her artistic know-how and encounter performing with youth.

Chapel Hill Transit art buses are aspect of a more substantial City of Chapel Hill Artwork + Transit task. In addition to the buses, Triangle-centered artists are commissioned to create creative bus shelters.
