Mark your calendars for Artwork in the Park in Sterling

STERLING — Contacting all spot artists.

“Art in the Park” is coming to the town common and Memorial Park Aug. 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“The inspiration for Art in the Park was to deliver the artists of this great local community collectively to fulfill the Sterling community in an uplifting celebration,” Sterling Cultural Council Chair Rosanne Mapp stated. “It has been my aspiration to deliver an ‘Art in the Park’ event to the town of Sterling. Regretably, COVID acquired in the way final year.”

Artwork in the Park will welcome and showcase all artists of any age.

The Mass Cultural Council is supporting this program.

“We hope to persuade not only Sterling artists but encompassing cities to be aspect of this undertaking,” Mapp reported, adding that they will have table locations for hire.  

Mapp has been a member of the Cultural Council for 5 a long time, two as chair. The other members incorporate treasurer Peg Spaulding, secretary Patricia Ward, artist Diane Pederson, who developed all the artwork for “Art in the Park” and the “Nature Contest,” Beth Stephenson, whom Mapp reported, “has been our liaison on quite a few items,” and Judy Doherty, coordinator for the “Nature Lovers” contest.
