Visible artists excel in Scholastic Artwork Awards

13 significant university learners in the Visible Arts Method have gained awards in two North Carolina locations of the newly reorganized Scholastic
Artwork and Crafting Awards. UNCSA visual artists gained a total of 10 gold keys, which includes
a prestigious American Visions nominee 8 silver keys and 12 honorable mentions.
Two added gold crucial performs been given unique recognition.

Ila Waller of Chapel Hill, N.C., is an American Visions nominee for her gold-essential function, “Mysticism,”
and she obtained special recognition from the Harvey B. Gantt Centre for African-American
Arts+Culture for an additional gold-essential get the job done, “On Sunday We Dream.” The Gantt Center preserves
and celebrates excellence in the art, history and society of African People and
persons of African descent. Waller also received two silver keys.

Anna Kosinski of Chapel Hill received two gold keys, a silver critical and an honorable point out. One of her

documentary filmmaker and director David LaChapelle, an alumnus of the Visible Arts
Software, was the speaker for the UNCSA superior faculty graduation in 2015.
