West Chicago Dist. 94 students place in 2022 Upstate Eight Conference Art Show


Six West Chicago Neighborhood Significant College artists been given awards in the annual Upstate 8 Convention Artwork Demonstrate in March.

All 10 large schools in the conference (Bartlett, East Aurora, Larkin, Fenton, Glenbard East, Glenbard South, Elgin, South Elgin, Streamwood and West Chicago) had been qualified to submit up to 10 works in 9 distinctive categories which includes drawing, painting, combined media/printmaking, electronic illustration, images, digital images, ceramics, sculpture and jewellery, and electronic artwork and graphic design.

Awards ended up presented for to start with- to 3rd-place in each and every classification together with honorable mentions. Due to continued COVID problems, the demonstrate was virtual this 12 months.

Of the 10 works of artwork submitted, 6 West Chicago Superior School college students received awards:

• Junior AnnaBelle Beaird of West Chicago, initial put, painting

• Junior Isabella Wiehle of Carol Stream, initial place, drawing

• Junior Leslie Munoz of West Chicago, 2nd area, ceramics

• Sophomore MaryJo Turek of Winfield, 3rd spot, ceramics

• Senior Jocelyn Arevalo of West Chicago, honorable mention, ceramics

• Senior Sydney Unger of West Chicago, honorable mention, drawing.

Other student artists selected to participate contain senior Rebecca Alison of West Chicago, digital pictures junior Melissa Casimiro of West Chicago, painting junior Andy Garcia of West Chicago, electronic photography and freshman Angelina Garcia of Carol Stream, mixed media.

Group Substantial School District 94 serves approximately 2,100 college students in ninth to 12th quality at West Chicago Neighborhood Higher University.
