MURRAY – Murray Condition University’s Section of Art & Structure and Murray Condition College Galleries will be presenting The Magic Silver Exhibit: The Elena Diane Curris Juried Pictures Exhibition, on check out in the Clara M. Eagle Most important Gallery from Sept. 8 through Oct. 18. The exhibition, which capabilities 83 works by 45 nationwide and intercontinental artists, is an open up-topic exhibition that showcases the function of regional, nationwide and global artists doing the job in all image media, including but not restricted to standard black and white or coloration images, experimental or nontraditional gentle sensitive processes, digital media, film and video clip.

The Magic Silver Exhibit commenced in the mid-1970s as a juried exhibition built to motivate, foster comprehending, and reward these associated in photographic media. The exhibition returns to Murray Condition beneath the sponsorship of Dr. Constantine and Jo Curris, and is in memory of their daughter, Elena. Dr. Curris was the sixth president of Murray Point out. The exhibit is funded by an endowment to the visible arts by loved ones and mates of Elena Diane Curris to memorialize her generous and adventurous spirit and to guidance the toughness and popularity of the visual arts at Murray Point out. Elena earned an affiliate diploma in communications from the Manner Institute of Know-how in New York and a bachelor’s degree in advertising and marketing, communications and photography from the College of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. In excess of the training course of her vocation, Curris worked with the Mirabella magazine, the Ralph Lauren Corporation and California Condition University at Prolonged Beach. Magic Silver Show juror Sherri Nienass Littlefield is a New York City based curator and photographer fascinated in data, collaborative projects, and the use of up to date artwork toward social excellent. Littlefield was the director of Foley Gallery from 2016-2019, and was the Interim Director of ClampArt in 2020. Tasks curated by Littlefield have been showcased at PULSE Art Truthful, AIPAD, the Huffington Write-up, Artnet, DNAinfo New York, and Whitewall magazine. She has served as a juror and reviewer for many competitions, including Image Lucida Critical Mass (2020), PDN’s The Curator (2019), Photoville and PDN’s Image Additionally. She was a reviewer for the duration of the prestigious Palm Springs Picture Pageant in September 2020.
As a photographer, Littlefield has exhibited her art internationally, such as the Brighton Photo Biennial, the Orlando Museum of Artwork, the Aperture Basis and the Museum of Present-day Artwork — Ga. Because 2018, she has served on the advisory board of the New York Chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers.
