The Florida Suncoast Watercolor Culture is celebrating its last exhibit of the time with a spring on line exhibition. The exhibit characteristics 90 paintings, which includes three major contest winners and other awards and honorable mentions. Items were being curated by juror Iliya Mirochnik, an artist and trainer at New Masters Academy and Ringling College or university of Art & Style. Most pieces are for sale and can be seen on the society’s web site until Saturday, May 15.
First prize ($500) also regarded as the Joanna & Frank Warber Award, was supplied to Stuart Cantor for his calming piece, Reflection Pool. Second prize ($400) went to Evie Peck for her reptile-impressed piece, No All-natural Enemies. 3rd prize ($300) went to Florida Suncoast Watercolor Modern society president Jenny Medved for her piece, Roots. The Excellency in Transparent Watercolor Award ($250) was offered to Lakewood Ranch artist William Perry for his portrait titled At the James.
Merit awards of $100 every have been supplied to Suzanna Span for Washboard Willie at the Cat, Jacquie Clark for Hooch and Augusto Argandona for After the Rain. Honorable mentions had been specified to Helen Burkett, Kris Parins and Linda Sanders.
